Only with excise stamp: New requirements for tobacco come into force from July 1

New requirements for tobacco products imported into Russia from abroad will come into effect on July 1, requiring foreign manufacturers to produce tobacco products with an excise stamp and a marking code on packaging. The process of obtaining marking codes will change from July 1, using information from the Digital Excise Tax system and the Honest Sign marking system. Special accounting and control marks will be used to mark tobacco and nicotine-containing products, preventing counterfeiting and reuse. Digital marking will help strengthen industry control.
