Thailand Intensifies Crackdown on Illegal E-Cigarette Imports

On October 15, 2024, Thailand Customs reported a significant crackdown on illegal imports from October 1 to October 10, resulting in the seizure of goods valued at over 35,960,000 Thai Baht (approximately 108,000 USD). This operation specifically targeted e-cigarette smuggling activities.

Thai Revenue Department discovered 3,000 e-cigarette components weighing 96 kilograms, valued at around 100,000 Thai Baht (3,000 USD), in a company suspected of tax evasion. Additionally, on October 7, authorities found 524 illegal e-cigarette items, including 10 e-cigarettes, 250 used pods, 250 mouthpieces, and 14 bottles of 30ml e-liquid, in a Pattaya store, totaling an estimated value of 68,000 Thai Baht (2,040 USD). This operation underscores the government's commitment to enforcing e-cigarette regulations.
