The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) on 12 Feb-25 has announced an update to its e-governance system for cosmetic product registration and import of the cosmetics products through the SUGAM online portal. To streamline the process, a new online provision has been introduced for applying and obtaining approval for additional variants of already approved cosmetic products. This module will be implemented 10 days after the circular’s issuance. Stakeholders are advised to submit applications for additional variants via the SUGAM portal. This initiative aims to improve efficiency, transparency, and ease of regulatory compliance for cosmetic manufacturers and importers in India.
