The Commission has assessed the data provided by the applicant for magnesium L-threonate and determined it meets the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2015/2283. As a result, studies on its bioavailability and safety will be protected for five years. During this period, only the applicant is authorized to market magnesium L-threonate in the EU. However, other applicants can apply for authorization to sell the same product if they base their application on independently obtained data supporting its safety and compliance​
