The term FEUM stands for Farmacopea de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos, popularly known as the Mexican Pharmacopoeia. The Mexican Pharmacopoeia (FEUM) is an autonomous institution that advises the Mexican Ministry of Health. The Mexican Pharmacopoeia was originally issued in 1846 by the Pharmaceutical Academy in the republic's capital.

It developed quality/reference standards and technical papers for the regulation of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and other items. It establishes rigorous standards for the preparation, testing, and application of these compounds, which are essential for guaranteeing consistent quality in medical treatments. FEUM contributes to the integrity of healthcare procedures in Mexico.

The body in charge of updating the FEUM is known as CPFEUM. It is comprised of a Board of Directors, a Technical Council, an Executive Directorate, and a trust. The Permanent Commission of the Pharmacopoeia of the United Mexican States (CPFEUM) is a collegiate advisory body of the Ministry of Health established on September 26, 1984, by secretarial agreement.

  2. FEUM's rules are periodically updated to reflect international best practices and technological advancements.
  3. It has technical references. It acts as a resource for regulatory agencies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and healthcare providers, offering technical requirements and procedures for drug development and analysis.
