Australia approves allulose as a novel food

Australia approved the use of allulose as a food ingredient under Announcement No. F2024L01377, published on the Australian Federal Gazette website. The revised Australia-New Zealand Food Codex permits D-allulose in various foods with specified limits, including baked goods (10%), chewing and bubble gum (50%), breakfast cereals (5%), candies (5%, excluding chocolate), desserts (10%), ice cream (5%), non-alcoholic flavored beverages (3.5%), and yogurt (5%)
